FUNERAL SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. CHARLES W. GROHARING, 86

Mrs. Charles W. Groharing, Chadwick, and formerly of Thomson, passed away Monday morning at 8 a.m. at the Eveningside Nursing Home in Morrison, after being in ill health for the last 4 years. Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Thomson Methodist Church, preceeded by a 1:45 p.m. prayer service. The Reverend Gerald Bower, Pastor of the church, officiated and buriel was in the Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. A memorial has been established.

Myrta May Cobb was born April 4, 1881 in Morrison, the daughter of Samuel B. Cobb Sr. and Della (Green) Cobb. She was educated in the Cobb school. On January 18, 1900, she was married to Charles W. Groharing and they resided in the Thomson area following their marriage. Following the death of her husband on July 13, 1942, Mrs. Groharing made her home with a daughter, Bessie, in Chadwick until the last three years, when she resided with another daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hoffman. She was a member of the Thomson Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors. She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Hoffman of Chadwick, Mrs. Virgil (Vada) Witt of Thomson, Mrs. Elmer (Blanche) Mosher of Morrison, Mrs. Ellwood (Bessie) Daehler, Mrs. Leroy (Myrtle) Foltz, and Mrs. Donald (Lois) Adolph, all of Chadwick, and Mrs. Wesley (June) Luckstead of Mission Hills, California; Five sons; Clyde, Glenn, Fay, and Fred, all of Morrison, and Paul of Savanna; 45 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; two brothers, Dana and Harvey Cobb, all of Morrison; three sisters; Mrs. Paul Nice of Morrison, Mrs. R. Guy McCulloh of Rock Falls, and Mrs. Leo Snavely of Sterling.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, and two daughters, Mrs. Vern (Leatha) Scudder, and Mrs. Floyd (Mabel) Tobey and three brothers, Henry, Sam, and Bernard.
