Mr. J. D. Brooks died last Wednesday at four o'clock at his home in New Salem township. Mr. Brooks suffered a stroke of paralysis about a year ago and never fully recovered. Wednesday he had a second stroke and never regained consciousness.
Deceased was about 50 years of age and was a good citizen. He is survived by his wife, two sons and several daughters. The remains were interred in the family burying ground near Watson church.
