Son of Franz and Catherine Dreher Unrein. He married Clementine Leiker on Feb 29, 1916 and had 6 children: Agatha, Alois, Cyril, Ignatius, Barbara, and Herbert Sr. Unrein. He also married Josephine Dreiling. After Clementines death he married Josephine Dreiling Leiker. They had 4 children.
