Mary Ellen Dodson, age 78, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the home of her brother. She was born May 25, 1944 in Bristol, Va., a daughter of the late Vernon Lloyd and Nina Estelle Offield Dodson. Mary lived most of her life in the Bristol area. She retired from S.E. Massengill Company where she worked as an accounting clerk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Dodson, Glenna Lee Schmidt, Edna Darlene Nelson, Gladys Ann Cook and Verna Mae Ayers.
Survivors include her brothers, Vernon L. Dodson, Jr. and Lawrence M. Dodson and wife Rita; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, John Honky and wife Ellena, and their son, Christian; special niece, Sam and husband Tim, and their son, Jacob; and special friend, Donna Malone.
The memorial service for Ms. Dodson will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Rowlette officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be private at Rooty Branch Cemetery.
