Bobby was born on October 9, 1935, in Tazewell County, VA, and was the son of the late Arch Ball and Virgie Davis Ball. He was a retired coal miner and a lifelong resident of Tazewell County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Ball, two sons, Timmy Ball and William "Blacky" Ball, one son-in-law, Manuel Hubbard, and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by:

Mary Keen and husband Glenn of Ridgeway, VA
Two sisters:
Patsy and Birdie
One Brother:
Otis Ball
Nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren survive along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Bobby Gene Ball will be conducted at 3 pm at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands, VA on Saturday, April 29, 2023, with Reverends Roger Lester and J.R Elswick officiating. Interment will follow in Ball Family Cemetery on Road Ridge near Raven, VA. Pallbearers will be his family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 pm until the hour of the funeral.
