Edith Celestina "Edie" (Acri) Kochenour, 97, passed peacefully on April 24, 2023 after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Fortuna (Biasi) Acri.

Edie was a graduate of John Harris High School.

She worked for Western Union during World War II, the Dauphin County Court House - Register of Wills Office, and part-time for J.C. Penney's for eighteen years starting in 1966.

Edith was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

She was a member of the Mechanicsburg Officers Club for many years.

Edie played in various Bridge groups for sixty years and was an avid reader of books.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years: Kenneth William Kochenour; her daughter: Cynthia Amedeo; her sisters: Aralia Lewis and Esther Lewis; and, her brothers: Romualdo Acri, Adolph Acri, Albert Acri, Ercole Acri, Armond Acri, and Raymond Acri.

Edith is survived by her daughters: Lynda Ronemus of Mechanicsburg and Pamela Gilbert of New Cumberland; her grandsons: Jared Ronemus and Blake Amedeo; her sister: Helen Lappano of Mechanicsburg; and, her nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 04, 2023 in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 01:00 PM.
