Barbara Sue Edmondson, 77, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 24, 2023. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 26, 1945 and was raised in Greenup County, Kentucky, before moving to Columbus, Ohio and then later in life moving to Punta Gorda, Florida for several years and then finally making her home in the Chattanooga area in 1996. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked as a Caretaker for most of her life. She truly had a love for people and never met a stranger. She could hold a conversation with anyone and always enjoyed playing practical jokes on everyone. She had an appreciation for being outdoors, working in her yard and loving on her dogs. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Priscilla Alexander; husband, David Lebron Edmondson; brother, Ralph "Skip" Hurn and sister, Sylvia Morrison.
Survivors include her children, Denise Sexton, Denver Sexton and Liggett Sexton; brother, Edward Hurn; 2 sisters, Martha Mays and Jo Anne Cassell; 3 grandchildren, Jason Sexton & (Trey Trego), Dylan Linehan and Delana Sexton; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 4~8 p.m. on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
