Samuel Dewain Haas was born December 31st, 1943 in Sayre,(sic) Oklahoma to Jewel Beatrice (Smith) and Wilbert Samuel Haas. He passed away at his home in Elk City, Oklahoma on November 11th, 2022 at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Samuel, known by many as Sammy or Sam, grew up in Sayre, Oklahoma where he attended school. After his schooling he found employment with Galmore's, roughnecking, and a tree trimming business. He was married to Belinda Rea Haas at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on April 19, 1968. Sam and Belinda remained in the Sayre community until 1990 when they moved to Elk City to make their home. Sam enjoyed tinkering with cars and spending time with his coffee buddies and family at the coffee shop.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 sons, Michael and Donald Haas; 4 brothers, Billy, Calvin, Jack, and Darryl Haas; 1 sister, Linda Baker.

Sam is survived by his 3 children, Kenny Haas and wife, Jennifer, Elk City, OK, Lonnie Haas, Sayre, OK and Michelle Haas, Westminster, CA; 4 grandchildren, Chris, Crystal, Ashley, and Wade; 2 sisters, Jan Henson and husband, Greg, Sweetwater, OK and Bonnie Lowry, Sayre, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 at 2:00 at Buffalo Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
