James Smiley, aged 88, died last night at his home near Santa Fe. He will be buried Friday morning at 10 o'clock at South Fork Presbyterian church. The deceased leaves a widow and the following children: Mrs. Mary A. Crawford, this city, Mrs. James H. Bridgford, William and Robert Smiley, Monroe county.
Mr. Smiley, "Uncle Jimmie," as he was called, was an estimable citizen and had a host of friends. He was a Christian man, a member of the Presbyterian church.

Smiley and Mrs. J. H. Bridgford. Deceased was a native of Virginia and had been a resident of Missouri for 50 years.
