Don was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston. After high school, he joined the Army Air Corp. He was stationed in New Guinea and flew supplies and mail over the Pacific. His hobbies included reading, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed listening to old gospel hymns and watching Westerns. He loved reading his Bible, and it was his greatest priority in life to make sure that his children grew to know the Lord. Don was a Master Plumber, a 32 Degree Mason, and a member of Nacogdoches First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ann Adair; and siblings, Dave Adair, Bill Adair, and Betty Parker.
He is survived by his children, Debbie Goodson and husband Ronald, Suzie Merrel and husband Ron, Don Adair, Becky Covarrubias, and Nancy Davis and husband Barton; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM officiated by Pastor Joe Ward.
Mr. Adair will be laid to rest in the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Mark Goodson, Christopher Covarrubias, Joshua Covarrubias, Ryan Merrel, Brandon Merrel, Jacob Davis, and Zachary Adair.
