WAVERLY - Dr. Robert E. Lee, DDS, of Waverly died March 13, 2008, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born July 22, 1913, in Staunton, the son of John and Emma Dietiker Lee. He married Jane Louise Kroush on Dec. 4, 1940, and she survives.
He also is survived by a son, Robert E. Lee Jr. of Clayton, Mo.; a daughter, Sandra Lee of New York City; and a sister, Florence Brown of Redwood City, Calif.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Dr. John Bernard Lee; two sisters, Virginia DeCorrevont and Henriette Lee; and several nieces and nephews.
Dr. Lee attended Illinois College before graduating from Saint Louis University School of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry for more than 60 years in Waverly, serving families of three generations.
He enjoyed music and playing golf. He was a member of the Ansar Shrine, a charter member of the Waverly Lions Club, the G.V. Black Dental Society and Waverly Methodist Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Waverly Library or Waverly Rescue Squad.
