Albert P. Cardamone, 84, of Yorkville, peacefully passed away, April 21, 2023, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, with his family by his side.

He was born, April 4, 1939, in Utica, NY, a son of Joseph and Angela Romano Cardamone. Al received his education locally and attended Utica College. Mr. Cardamone was a proud US Army veteran. He served in the US Army Reserves until being called to Active Duty during the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He returned to the Reserves until being honorably discharged in 1964. On September 4, 1965, Al married Elizabeth R. Cieslak at Walcott Memorial Presbyterian Church, New York Mills. Al and Betty have shared a blessed union of nearly 58 years.

Mr. Cardamone worked for a number of national food manufactures. Toward the end of his career, he was involved in sales in the telecommunication industry. He was a very active member of the Whitesboro Presbyterian Church, having served as Elder and Treasurer of the church. He had been active with the Jaycee's, and was a member of the American Legion, New Hartford Post 1376. In his leisure time, Al enjoyed traveling with his family, and RV-ing adventures with Betty.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; three children, Karen & Bill Brunnett, Ellen & Paul Diskin, and Mathew & Colleen Cardamone; grandchildren, Owen & Zoe' Moffett, Bryan & Caylee Diskin, Evan Diskin, MacKenzie Cardamone, Lillie Moffett, Nicole Cardamone, Noah Diskin, and Kirstyn Cardamone; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Diskin; his in-laws, Theresa Cardamone, Bob Cieslak, and Delores & Bill Smith; as well as many special nieces, nephews and close friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Patrick Cardamone.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Whitesboro Presbyterian Church, corner of Main and Elm Sts., Whitesboro. Interment in Glenside Cemetery, New York Mills, will be at the convenience of the family.
