Patt Warner Houk, 75, of Richwood, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida died Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was born December 29, 1932 in Union County to the late A. C. and Ellen E. (Potts) Warner.

She had attended Ohio Wesleyan University, earned her Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University, and her Master's from Wright State University. She was an active member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, having played the organ for many years, and the Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church of Sarasota where she sang in the choir and was active in the Women's Gatherings. She was secretary for the Windward Isle Association of Sarasota for many years. She had been the secretary for the United Methodist Conference at Lakeside and was currently a delegate. She was well known in the Richwood area as the Reluctant Cook, a column she enjoyed writing for the Richwood Gazette for 21 years. She taught 31 years and spent 5 years as Assistant Principal of Benjamin Logan High School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Logan County Retired Teachers and Union County Retired Teachers, honorary memberships in Benjamin Logan National Honor Society (she was the local adviser for 18 years and Logan County Adviser for 5 of those years), International Thespians, the Future Homemakers of America and an Honorary Farmer in the Benjamin Logan Chapter of the FFA. She enjoyed producing numerous stage shows for her communities and schools.

She is survived by cousins Natalia Howald, Ned Potts, Anna Lee Moffett, Jim Potts, Janis Goforth, Judy Tupis, Mabel Reece, Charles Warner, Lee McCafferty, and Linda Carrel and their extended families and numerous close friends that were special to her.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a cousin, Lew Henry Warner who had lived with her family in earlier years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Richwood First United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Rhea officiating. Burial will follow in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Windward Isle Mobile Home Park in the Park Hall on Clark Road in Sarasota.
