Helen Howell Speck, 81, of Denton, TX passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008. She was born June 29, 1926 to Agnes and Ralph Howell in Fairbury, Nebraska. She married David Foy Speck in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 7, 1948 and lived happily together until his death on October 8, 1990.

Helen, a beloved wife and mother, was a homemaker, active in her church, Singing Oaks Church of Christ, a volunteer at Ann's Haven Hospice, Meals on Wheels, PEO, and the Pregnancy Crisis Center. Throughout her life, Helen demonstrated her Christian faith through acts of kindness and compassion to others. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her spirit of joy and sweet smile.

She is survived by her four sons, Steve and Julie Speck of Denton, TX, David and Lane Speck of New Braunfels, TX, Bob and Vickie Speck of Nashville, TN, and Mark and Leslie Speck of Amarillo, TX. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation for the family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Monday evening March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 4th at the Singing Oaks Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX.
