When Mary Frances Mavity was born on 19 November 1936, in Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas, her father, Francis Joseph Mavity of Des Moines, Iowa, was 27 and her mother, Dorthy (maiden name?) of Indiana, was 32.

She married Kenneth Leon Rogers on 2 January 1953 at the age of 16, and had their first son Kenneth Leon Rogers Jr. on 18 August 1953, In Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas. Sadly, Kenneth Jr. died at birth due to congenital heart disease and was buried at the Seaside Memorial Park, In Corpus Christi, Nueces, Texas.

They later had two more sons born in 1956 and in 1958, who are still living, so I will leave out details about them. I also found divorce records for Mary Frances Mavity and Kenneth Leon Rogers that were dated 07 January 1970, In Nueces County, Texas. Mary Frances Mavity kept the surname Rogers after the divorce.

Sometime in the early to mid 1970's Fran Rogers met up with Earl Ray Smith. She had an art gallery in Port Aransas, Nueces, Texas where she made and sold her oil paintings and crafts, and I believe that at this time Earl was working as a civilian on the Naval Base in Corpus Christi. During this time Fran was also teaching Earl how to paint with oil paints.

Together they lived in Flour Bluff, Nueces, Texas, on Laguana Shores Road, until around 1980, when a storm flooded them out and destroyed much of their property. After that, they purchased some commercial property in Holiday Beach, Aransas, Texas, where they opened up "Fran's Galleria" and lived on the property behind their shop. They both sold their oil painting and crafts there and Fran also gave painting lessons. The shop was a combination of many things, not only was it arts and crafts, but it was also a beachcomber shop, with many collectible items for the tourist passing through. Around 1984, they also purchased cameras and started getting into photography as well and selling their photography in the shop. It was around this time when Earl's son Cary Smith (me) came to live with them and also, Earl's mother Annie Denise Farrar/Stewart moved onto the property, until her passing in 1988.

Around 1985, they expanded Fran's Galleria to a location in downtown Rockport, Aransas, Texas. Fran would work at the shop in Rockport and Earl would run the one in Holiday Beach. They also traveled around to local festivals, doing art shows here and there on the weekends, but never went much past San Antonio. After I, Cary Smith moved out in March of 1985, it wasn't long after that that Earl's oldest daughter Dee Smith moved in with them temporarily. I believe that she lived there until she married in 1988, but I am not positive about that. After 1988, I don't have much information. I was in the military and gone overseas for several years and didn't see Fran again until my dad's passing in 1991. I only seen her one more time after that, when I introduced her to my wife in November of 2003. She was still living on the property in Holiday Beach at that time and I am not sure when she moved to be closer to her son.

Fran and Earl Smith never were officially married but lived together for almost 20 years.

I'll update more information as I find it.
