Anna M. Ellis, 80, Neosho, died at 2:00 a.m., Fri., March 14, 2008, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

She was born May 23, 1927, in Seneca, MO, to Floyd J. Ritter and Gertrude Carolyn (Hierholzer) Ritter.

Mrs. Ellis was a lifelong area resident and worked as a Nurse's Aid at Sale Memorial Hospital in Neosho for many years. She was a member of St. Canera Catholic church and the VFW Auxiliary.

Anna married George Ellis Jan. 25, 1949 in Bentonville, AR. He preceded her in death Feb. 11, 2001.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and James Roles; a son and daughter-in-law, George Scott and Roxie Ellis, all of Neosho; three brothers, James Ritter, Seneca, Leonard Ritter, Neosho, and Larry Ritter, Granby; five sisters, Mary "Crickett" Warren, Elizabeth "Betty" VanDorn, Joan Bynorth, all of Neosho; Bernice Johnson, Seneca, and Carolyn Beavers, Neosho; five grandchildren, Greg Ellis, Nicole Estudiante, Rachel Pendergraft, Mike Pendergraft and Jeffrey Ellis; two great grandchildren, Jeremiah Ellis and Ellis Pendergraft.; and her stepmother, Lucille Ritter, Neosho.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Maurice Ritter, and her parents.
