POMEROY, John Thomas — Service
will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Saturday in Dry Branch Freewill
Baptist Church by Rev.
Carl Davis. Burial will follow in
Dry Branch Cemetery. Mr.
Pomeroy, 77. of Dry Branch
died Tuesday in Flagler Beach,
Mr. Pomeroy was visiting a
stepdaughter, Edith, when he
became ill. A retired miner and
member of UMW. he was a life-
long resident of Dry Branch.
Also surviving are his wife,
Cora: a son, Thomas of Dry
Branch: another stepdaughter,
Mrs. Virgie Smith of New Jersey:
two stepsons, Frank L. Waugh
of Patrick Air Force Base
in Florida and Arthur Waugh of
Columbus. Ohio: five sisters, Mrs.
Catherine O'Nei1 of Winifrede,
Mrs. Laura Raines and Mrs. Lou
Arms of Ronda, , Mrs. Mary
Workman of Chesapeake and
Mrs Bertha Nelson of Charleston:
three brothers, Lester of Charleston,
Burl and Cecil Pomeroy of Dry Branch:
10 grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren
The body will be taken from Pryor
Funeral Home at East Bank
to the home of his son, Thomas
at 6 p. m. today and to the
church an hour before service.
