Carl "Dane" Robbins, 87, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on April 19th, 2023, in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Dane was born on January 27th, 1936, in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Carl Younge Robbins and Virginia Campbell Robbins.

Dane was a lover of baseball, whether he was playing or watching. He enjoyed doubles tennis with his wife, his collection of model trains and was quite the woodworker in his younger years. He enjoyed great music, dancing, and never turned down an opportunity to shag to his favorite beach music. Most of all, his greatest joy came from spending time making wonderful memories with his family. He was a devoted member and deacon of Colonial Presbyterian Church where he served in various areas for many years. He was a veteran of the Army National guard. Dane retired from The Norfolk and Western/NS Railway where he worked for 40 years, along side the vice president of the railroad.

Left to cherish Dane's memory are his wife, Bonnie Haynes Robbins of Murrells Inlet, SC; four daughters, Kim Robbins of Murrells Inlet, SC, Dana Malinski of Murrells Inlet, SC, Cheryl Callaway (Robert) of Seneca, SC and Kealy Benton (Sonny) of Georgetown, SC; six granddaughters, Spencer Malinski, Carly Malinski, Eden Malinski, Ellie Callaway Corontzes (Drew), Carsen Callaway and Avery-Claire Benton; as well as his first great-grandson on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Dane was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a sister, Martha R. Harrison of Roanoke, VA.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at the Belin UMC seawall on the Inlet, Murrells Inlet, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the Harbor Church (Belin) social hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Belin United Methodist Church located at 4182 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 or to Amedisys Hospice SC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice Care, the nurses and aids, Kelly Reighard and Priscilla Singleton for their amazing kindness and loving care of Dane.
