Gwendoline Willson Garland, 61, of Honolulu, Hawaii, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999 at the Elder Care Gardens in Charlottesville. She was the wife of the late Samuel Meredith Garland. Mrs. Garland was born March 3, 1937 in Sussex, England and was a retired maintenance supervisor with Raytheon, Inc., Honolulu, Hawaii. She is survived by one daughter, Joanne Elizabeth Garland of Kwajalcin, Marshall Islands; one son, Samuel Meredith Garland of Boulder, Colo.; mother-in-law, Mrs. Samuel Meredith Garland of Amherst; four sisters-in-law, Lucie E. Garland also of Amherst, Eva G. Lindsay of Arlington, Rosalie G. Sharp of Lynchburg and Sharon G. Albert of Elon and one brother-in-law, David B. Garland of Amherst. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Amherst Cemetery by the Rev. Jacque Ambler. Whitten Monelison Chapel is serving the Garland family.
