She graduated from grammar school at Concord, NH. She began her career as a postal clerk at the Beaver Crossing, NE Post Office in 1913. She held that position for three years.
She was married to Thomas LeZotte on March 22, 1916, at Lincoln. Soon after, they moved to the McGuire place near Norden in Keya Paha County, NE where one son, Lyle, was born to them. In 1920 they moved to Norden from the ranch, and Nellie began her duties as postmistress from which she retired on May 31, 1960, officially completing nearly 40 years at the Norden Post Office.
She moved to Springview in the fall of 1960 where she resided until moving to Bethesda Care center at Ainsworth in October 1976.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Valentine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Charles R. Trail.
She is survived by her son Lyle, two grandchildren, Howard LeZotte and Myra Haszard; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
