Marie Elaine (Powell) Berta, 76, of Biloxi, passed away on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 in Gulfport.
A native of Biloxi, she was the daughter of Willis Powell and Mary Powell. Marie was married to Randy Berta for roughly 50 years. Marie enjoyed many outdoor activities such as traveling across the country on their motorcycle, she loved nature and being outside all the time. She was known to many as a free spirit. Marie was an avid sports lover but basketball was her passion. In 8th grade, she played in the state basketball tournament for St. Martin. Marie was a graduate of St. Martin High School
Marie Berta is preceded in death by her mother Mary Powell and her father Willis Powell.
Survivors include brother Joseph "Sonny" (Patsy) Powell, sister Yvonne (Elvin Jr.) Battaya; son Michael Shane Gray; grandchildren Savannah Gray, and Ashley Fisher; great-grandchild Jaxson Fisher. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and family friends. "Fly High with the Eagles".
The family will be holding a private ceremony at a later date.
