He was born and raised in Pennsylvania and earned a Master's of Science degree in Chemistry from Allegheny College. He was employed by Roche Pharmaceutical in Research and Development for over thirty years until he retired and moved to Maine.
While living in New Jersey, he was active in Scouting, and spent many years as Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster for Glen Ridge Troop 55. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, being outdoors and spending time with this family.
David was predeceased by his parents, Roland W. Parrish and Katherine (Maddox) Parrish. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Grace (Shaw) Parrish, a daughter, Katherine and her husband, Paul, a son, David and his wife, Marie, a son, John and his wife Roxanne as well as seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marijane, a brother-in-law, John, and several nieces and nephews.
