James William Bobo, was the son of Jeremiah & Sarah [White] Bobo. The grandson of Solomon Jr & Elizabeth "Betsy" [White] Bobo.

Her married Pamelia Angelina Trimble, on Apr 24, 1864, in Cass County Texas.

They had the following known children:
Belle Carolyn, Mary Mamie, Laura Sarah,
William Richard, Mattie Lou, Ada, F Willie,
Jennie, Robert Preston O'Neal, Susan Malissa.

James served in the Civil War in Co I 33rd Texas Cavalry Regiment, know as "Duff's Partisan Rangers", this unit was placed into Gano's and Hardemen's Brigade, in the Trans-Mississippi Department. His wife Pamelia, filed an application for his pension, File # 25979.

James family are Pioneer's of the area, arriving in Bowie County in 1846, with their uncle's wagon train, Elias White, of Redwater, Bowie Co TX.

James mother, Sarah White Bobo, may have been a daughter of Elias White, and after her death, in Union Co SC, his father married Hester White, a known daughter of Elias White, possibly Sarah's younger sister, this is not proven, but Elias White shows 2 unknown daughters, and a an unknown son, on the early census records prior to 1850. This would make James's father, the first cousin, of his first and second wives, as Jeremiah's mother was Elizabeth White Bobo, sister of his uncle, Elias White.
