George served as a Private, Company B, 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Fifth Army, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in New Jersey prior to the war.

George was "Killed In Action" in the Po River Valley, Italy when the tank he was on was destroyed by enemy action.

He was originally interred in Mirandola, Italy and was later repatriated here on June 24, 1949.

He is interred with Corporal Lewis Thomas, Jr. who died with him on the same tank.
