He was born in Onslow County, N.C. and had resided in the area for the past 10 years. He was employed for the past seven years with J. B. Coxwell Construction Company and was a member of Decoy Baptist Church. Perhaps Donald's life seemed all too brief. His life was full, he savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. A loving husband, father and brother, Donald will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
He is survived by his family members, wife of 22 years, Joan; daughters, Sophia Tuliao, Sharon Bryant, Donna St. Clair of Jacksonville, Tonya Hall of Green Cove Springs and Missy Melton of Palatka; sons, Todd Melton, Amor Kurtz, of Jacksonville, Donald Jr.of Orlando, Donald Paul and Christopher Luckie, of Alabama; brothers, Hugh Melton, William Thompson, Gerald Thompson, of Jacksonville, Alvin Melton of Hawthorne; sisters, Lena Bostic, Sallie Marshburn, of N.C., Jullia Houston, Edna Lamb, Marie Dugger, of Jacksonville, Carolyn Kent of Elkton, Shirley Collins of Palatka; 11 grandchildren; many friends.
