Lauren Edward Felton, 70, of Eleva died peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Sacred Heart Hospital after a long battle with diabetes.
Lauren was born Feb. 7, 1938, to Ed and Norma (Gunderson) Felton Sr. in Eau Claire. Lauren worked as a farmer most of his life and also worked at Family Farms in Eleva for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed working in his garden and canning.
Lauren is survived by his sons, Lauren Jr. (Anne) of Eleva and Terry (Karen) of Strum; daughter, Billi (David Hewitt) of Mondovi; two grandchildren, Megan and Brandon Felton; brothers, Rodger (Marion) of Eau Claire, Donald of New Auburn, Gail (Hazel Burger) of Eleva and Edward Jr. (Karen) of Mondovi; sisters, Marlys of Eau Claire and Hazel (Gary) Rud of Eau Claire; and mother, Norma of Pleasant Valley.
Lauren was preceded in death by his father, Edward; and his special friend, Dorothy Vlcek.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, at Smith Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, town of Washington.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before services Friday at the funeral chapel.
