George Thomas "Tom" Becker, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Baptist East Palliative Care. Tom was born on November 7, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was the eldest son of Ernest Lee Becker and Maude Ellen Becker (Blunt), who preceded him in death.

Tom was proudly raised in the west end of Louisville, where he attended Holy Cross Grade School, Flaget High School, and Bellarmine College. He was employed as a purchasing manager for over 35 years, most notably for the old Armor Elevator Company and he retired from Vogt-NEM (formerly Henry Vogt Machine Company).

Tom was a member of the Kentucky Air National Guard and the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. For over 15 years, Tom proudly served at the Franciscan Kitchen. He was a member of St. John Paul II (formerly St. Pius X) parish for over 50 years.

Tom loved sports and coached basketball and baseball at St. Pius X School for over 30 years. He won numerous CSAA city championships in both sports. He also coached baseball at Buechel Little League for many years where his teams won several league and district titles.

Unequivocally, the pride and joy for Tom was his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Helen (Dugan) children: Steve Becker (Cheryl Froula), Mary Krumm (Andy), Brian Becker (Rene), Jennifer Hill (David), Jeff Becker (Deanna), and Sarah Amback (Jason Lichtefeld); grandchildren: Ashley Dawson (Nick), Tommy & Caroline Krumm, Grace, Emma, Keegen, Katelyn, and Addyson Becker, Chase & Brady Amback, plus several "bonus" children (Tony Kamber) and grandchildren (Patrick, Peyton, and Shane Froula)., sisters Beverly Biggs and Jody Zeillmann (Ray), brother Bob Becker (Mary Sue), along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Tom will be Sunday, April 16 from 2-8 pm . The Funeral Mass will be Monday, April 17 at 10:00 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 3539 Goldsmith Lane. Burial Calvary Cemetery.
