Shirlene was born a sweet baby girl on February, 11th 1947 to the late Abe and Aretha Adkins. After Graduating from Guyan Valley High School, Shirlene set her sights on a job in business and she earned her associates degree at the Huntington Business College. She worked as an interviewer for the West Virginia Job Service and used her degree to help many start their own careers. Shirlene was a member of IAPES and Insurance Women of Huntington. She loved Huntington West Virginia and was an avid Marshall Thundering Herd Fan. She loved to spend her down time getting lost in a good book.
Shirlene leaves behind one beloved son Donnie Adkins of Rush KY, two Special Grandsons Drayden Adkins and Dalton Adkins both of Lexington, KY; two brothers Doug Adkins and his wife Kay of Hamlin, WV and Joey Adkins and his wife Leona of Midkiff, WV; two sisters Judy Adkins of Midkiff, WV and Tootsie Cup and her husband Mike of Ona, WV.
In addition to her parents Shirlene is preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie Adkins, William Adkins, and Greg Adkins.
