JUDGE MAHON'S WIFE, SUTTER PIONEER, DIES
Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Mahon, wife of Judge Kirby S. Mahon, of Sutter county, died at the family home at 215 B street, Yuba City, at 12:30 p. m. today.
The death of Mrs. Mahon cameras a shock tower family and friends as the end came suddenly, following two days of what was thought to be but a slight illness.
She became indisposed two days ago, but did not remain in bed until today. Not until a few minutes before the end did the family realize that her illness was serious.
In House 36 Years
Members of the family were wither when the end came.
Death took Mrs. Mahon from the house to which she came 36 years ago as the bride of Judge Mahon. The couple have made their home continuously at the same house since their marriage.
Mrs. Mahon was a native of Sutter county, being the daughter of the late William and Margaret Rennie, pioneers, who settled in the Bogue district in 1849. She was married to Judge Mahon in a ceremony performed at Santa Cruz, May 20, 1891. She was a graduate of San Jose Normal school, and followed the teaching profession up to the time of her marriage to Judge Mahon.
Active in Community.
She was a member of Fidelia chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, in Yuba City, and has taken an active part in community affairs.
She is survived by her husband, Judge Kirby S. Mahon, Yuba City; one son, Rennie J. Mahon, Bogue; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Robertson, Santa Cruz, and two brothers, R. D. Rennie, of Lompoc, and Allan C. Rennie, of Santa Cruz.
The body is at the Jones and Ullarey mortuary in Yuba City. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
