Perri Hart, 65, photographer, comedy writer, artist, painter, beer drinker, world traveler, wannabe stand-up comic, die-hard life-long New York Yankee fan, and friend to everyone she met, passed away peacefully on April 8th at Mercy House in Endicott. Perri was predeceased by her parents Johnny and Bobby Hart, who were waiting for her on the other side with a huge sign reading, "We were wrong about the whole 'gay' thing!" Perri is survived by her sister Patti Hart, nephews Mason Mastroianni (Maraela Rodriguez) and Mick Mastroianni, and her beloved great niece and great nephew Jaylene and Jet Rodriguez. After graduating from U-E high school in 1975, Perri attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and received a degree in photography in 1980. In the 2000s the "perri hART gallery" of Stephens Square was THE most popular spot during Binghamton First Fridays! (Apologies to Tony B. and Orazio) In 2008, Agora Gallery in Chelsea, NYC represented Perri's photography giving her an opportunity to travel to Italy to show her work and igniting her world traveler passion! Perri spent 25 wonderful years working alongside her cartoonist dad and his writing partner Jack Caprio (Uncle Kip) john-caprio. She colored Sundays, kept the guys on deadline, handled fan mail, and took care of all the behind the scenes details. She continued this work with her sister Patti, and nephews Mason and Mick when Johnny passed in 2007. She retired last year and had been planning a 274 day world cruise when cancer changed everything... Perri Lived and Loved Large! When you spent any amount of time with her, you left with a sore face and a full heart from laughter! And very often late for your next stop. She possessed that rare ability to find humor in everything life throws at you. Even facing glioblastoma, she would point out what good company she shared with John McCain and Beau Biden. Perri's light will forever be sorely missed... Perri was a supporter of the Human Rights Campaign and Meals on Wheels. A celebration of 'The Life and Art of Perri Hart' is planned for sometime in July. Details will follow. Expressions of sympathy in Perri's memory may be made to 'Mercy House'. Mercy House 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760
