David was born to David Armstrong Barrett and Elizabeth (Luber) Barnes-Barrett on February 15th, 1956.
David was born and raised on the water in Broomes Island, Maryland. From a young age David's father instilled a love of the water in him. David was an avid fisherman, and he was often seen on the Patuxent River catching crabs for family gatherings. Another favorite thing of David's was cooking for everyone. A great meal was always guaranteed when you visited the Barrett's house.
David spent most of his career rising through the building industry. He began at a very young age under the teaching of someone he considered like a dad to him, Douglas Wood. In his neighborhood David was known for his ability to help problem solve. Whether it be a house repair, snow plowing, yard maintenance, or advice David was called upon. David's true love was his
family. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 49 years. No greater joy was brought to him than to help his children in any way he could. His granddaughters and great granddaughter gave him so much happiness and joy.
