Anna Grace Helm, 93, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at Hamilton County Hospital in Syracuse.

She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Hamilton County, to Leslie and Gertrude Hixon Roberts. A lifetime resident of Hamilton County, she attended Syracuse schools until quitting during her high school years to support herself by working at the Harvey House and Daugherty Drug Store.

On June 14, 1937, she married Grover Helm. They farmed and ranched east of Syracuse before retiring and moving into Syracuse. She continued to live in her home until suffering a fall in September 2007. Following surgery on her hip, she recovered at Seasons Of Life Living Center in Syracuse.

Mrs. Helm was a longtime member of Kendall United Methodist Church before transferring her membership to Syracuse United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Women's Society. She also was active in Order of the Eastern Star for many years.

Her husband died Nov. 13, 1995. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Louie and Marvin Roberts; and two sisters, Bernice King and Ethel Tope.

Survivors include two sisters, Nellie Pearl Rector of Syracuse, and Phebe Reid of Wichita; a brother, Jack Roberts of Syracuse; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment was in Syracuse Cemetery.
