Sam Oliver Hardin, 52, longtime resident of the Hebron community near Guntersville, died in his sleep early Sunday morning.
Mr. Hardin, a school bus driver, was an active member of the New Hope Masonic Lodge and a deacon in the Baptist Church at Mt. Hebron.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Velma Irene Hardin; five sons, CPL Oliver Hardin Jr. of the U. S. Army, William M. Hardin of the Navy, James Truman Hardin, Robert Leon Hardin and Larry Gail Hardin of Hebron; a daughter, Mrs. Laura Mae Davis, Hebron; a half-brother, Larry Hardin, Memphis; a half-sister, Mrs. Laura Burroughs of Memphis and four grandchildren.
Time and place of the funeral will be announced later by Butler Brothers of New Hope.
