Minnie A. Koehn, 98, died Monday (Feb. 4, 2002) at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 21, 1903, to Tobias P. and Mathilda (Richert) Eck on a farm near Moundridge. They preceded her in death. She married Abraham J. Koehn April 26, 1923. He preceded her in death June 9, 1969.

She was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Newton. She had a fondness for flowers and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and baking.

Survivors include: a son, Eugene Koehn and wife Clara of Newton; a daughter, LaWanda Wiens of Newton; grandchildren, Sherri and Steve Kirk of Talking Rock, Ga., Peggy and Jon Davis of Lenexa, Jim and Sharon Wiens of Newton; and Julie and Larry Rippberger of Olathe; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Ruth Jantz of Moundridge and Marie Jantz of Goessel.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and a son-in-law.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, all at Petersen Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church with Pastors Clarence Rempel and Rusty Bonham officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
