Mr. Lavern Wildes, age 85 of Nicholls, GA passed away Sunday morning, April 9, 2023 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Wildes was born May 26, 1937 to the late Arnold B. Wildes and the late Daisy Belle Edenfield Wildes. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: D. L. Wildes and Kenneth Wildes.

Mr. Wildes, a native of Jeff Davis County, was retired from the Coffee County Sheriff's Office after 10 years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Wildes was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

1 Brother: Rodger Wildes of Douglas, GA

4 Granddaughters and 2 Grandsons

The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2023 at1:30 PM at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Stone and Rev. Stan Clough officiating. Mr. Wildes will lie-in-state from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the church. The interment followed in Grantham Cemetery.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
