ELBA WILDER, BEEKEEPER, DIES SUDDENLY

Elba D. Wilder, 67, 0f 497 Hillside Ave., died suddenly this morning at his home. Born in Surrey, New Hampshire, June 4, 1895, he came to Holyoke about 48 years ago.

He was the sone of Dana D. and Stell (Saxton) Wilder, and was employed at the American Thread Co. for over 30 years, and worked for the Tire Engineering Co., in West Springfield for about 14 years, and also the Machine Knife Co., in West Springfield, from which company he retired about a year ago.

He was very well known as a beekeeper, and was past president of the Hampden County Beekeepers Assn. he was also a member of Second Congregational Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lily (Parkinson) Wilder, two daughters, Mrs. Richard J. Mathieson of Holyoke, and Mrs. Stanley A. Cataldo of West Springfield; his father, Dana living in Brattlesboro, VT.; tow sisters, Mrs. Mildred Harrington and Mrs. Marjorie Ryder, both in Lake Worth, FL; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at the Edward F. Day Funeral Home Thursday afternoon. Dr. Oliver K. Black will officiate, and burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery.
