EMERSON. Dorothy (Arnold) Emerson, 86, formerly of Greenlawn Street, East Hartford, widow of Albin R. Emerson, died Sunday (Dec. 17. 1995) at Avery Heights in Hartford. Born in Hartford, Dec. 19, 1908, she resided in East Hartford most of her life, previously living in the Bolton Lake area. Prior to retiring in 1973, she had been employed by the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing for over 20 years. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Newton R. and Marilyn M. Emerson of Manchester; a daughter, June G. Emerson of Rockville; a brother, Raymond Arnold of East Hartford; a sister, Phyllis Ward of Westbrook; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St., Manchester. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home, Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 253 E. Center St., Manchester 06040.
