HANOVER Anthony D. "Tony" Hippensteel, 51, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Hershey Medical Center. Born September 23, 1962, in Hanover, he was the son of Stella M. (Smith) Hippensteel of Littlestown and the late Ted D. Hippensteel. Tony was formerly employed at Round Hill Foods in New Oxford. He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Hanover and the McSherrystown Home Association. Also surviving are Stella's companion, Fred A. Miller of Littlestown; three brothers, Joseph R. Hippensteel and Thomas L. Hippensteel, both of Brushtown, and Kenneth A. Hippensteel of Littlestown; his uncle with whom he lived, Herb Surrency; several other uncles and aunts; and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with the Rev. Mr. Joseph F. Lawrence officiating. Burial will be private. Friends and relatives will be received for a viewing Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
