Funeral services at Scotland for Benson Box

Services for William Benson Box were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 1st, at Scotland Baptist Church. Officiating were Revs. Jimmy Dukes, Robert Ellis, and K. L. Wilcutt. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Box, who was 79. died at the Tyler Holmes Hospital October 31. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a native of Montgomery County. He was a member of the Scotland church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mattie Gordon Box, Winona: a daughter, Mrs. Herman Taylor, Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Adams and Mrs. Bertha Lee Branch, Winona; and three grandsons.

Pallbearers were W inford Branch, Dewitt Branch, Benson Branch, L. E. Mitchell, James Mitchell and Ed Stafford.

William Benson Box of Winona, uncle of Mrs. Cecil Lyle, Mrs. Sam Clark and Mrs. James Beall of Greenwood, and Mrs. T. E. Williams of Clarksdale, died Thursday at the Tyler Holmes Hospital.

Services were held this afternoon at Scotland Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Gordon Box of Winona, a daughter, Mrs. Herman Taylor of Memphis, Tenn., and sisters, Mrs. Lillian Adams and Mrs. Bertha Lee Branch, both of Winona.
