"Oliver [Bacon, son of Jonathan Bacon and Abigail Robinson] was born in Lexington, April 14, 1740; married Dec. 6, 1770, Sarah Reed, daughter of William and Abigail (Stone) Reed. He served as a drummer with Lieut. Moses Abbott's company, which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, and was in service for four days. He died in Bedford, May 24, 1794. His wife died Jan. 25, 1841, in her ninety-fourth year." (Baldwin's Bacon Genealogy)
