C.C. (as he was known to friends and family) passed away at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell. C.C. and his wife, Elaine, had lived in Roswell for the past 61⁄2 years, close to their son, Bob, and his wife, Elaine. Their home had been in Killeen, Texas, where they had family and many friends. C.C. was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ his entire life. He was a member of the Church of Christ on W.S. Young Drive in Killeen and the South Main Church of Christ in Roswell. He was an elder in the Rockport, Texas, Church of Christ for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at the Church of Christ on 400 N. W.S. Young Drive, Killeen. Burial will follow the services at Killeen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, from 5-8 p.m.

C.C. was born Nov. 2, 1916, in Grandfield, Okla., to Cyrus Cleon Sr. and Lauah Rooke Ivie. He was 91 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clen, Kenneth and Hal; and one sister, Ima Jean Prince. He was also preceded in death by his oldest son, James Everett Lipe.

C.C. is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine, of Roswell. He and Malva Elaine Butler were married Dec. 2, 1937, in Conroe, Texas. In addition to his wife, Elaine, he is survived by son Bob Lipe and his wife, Elaine, of Roswell; daughter-in-law Gloria Lipe of Killeen; daughter Bonnie Buffington and husband, Daniel, of Bridge City, Texas; nine grandchildren: Brenda Gillispie and her husband, Wayne; Connie Gumment and her husband, Herb; Jimmy Lipe; Kevin Lipe and his wife, Trisha; Kenny Lipe and his wife, Tatia; Laurie Wagner and her husband, John; Kimberly Stewart and her husband, Butch; Crystal Soileau; and Katy Soileau. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lipe, Kevin Lipe, Kenny Lipe, Wayne Gillispie, Danial Buffington, Herb Gumment and John Wagner.

C.C. will be greatly missed by his entire family and many friends.
