The service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Paradise (Holtzschwamm) United Church of Christ, Thomasville RD 1. Burial will be in Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Union Cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Spahr was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Admire, Dover Township. He was the son of the late William and Emma (Spangler) Spahr.
He was a farmer for almost 40 years in Lower Windsor Township and prior to that farmed in Paradise and Dover townships. He was a member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) United Church of Christ, the National Arbor Society and American Association of Retired Persons.
Mr. Spahr is survived by a son, Marvin E. Spahr of York RD 12; two daughters, Phyllis M. Shoff of Wrightsville, and Doris E. McGuire of York RD 12; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd C. Spahr of East Berlin RD 2; and a sister, Viola Anderson of Yakima, Wash.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Gerald I. Gingrich, interim pastor of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) United Church of Christ.
