Teddie Jayne Richey was born on 14 Jan 1934 to Theodore Roosevelt Richey & Tina Adeline Markham in Caddo, Bryan Co Oklahoma. According to mom it was a hand-to-mouth existence. Grandma made all of their clothes - some made from gunny sacks or flour sacks. They lived in a 2 bedroom home that was heated only by wood. In the winter time, all the beds would be pulled out into the livingroom in order to stay warm.
The family moved to Oklahoma City, Grandpa worked for the City and Grandma worked for Streets Clothing Store. Mom went to high school at Capital Hill High. In 1952 she met dad. He was serving in the US Navy & was transferred to Boston. In July of 1953 mom took a bus to Boston, marrying him at a Methodist church on the 29th of July.
Together they raised 3 children: Linda, Pamela & James. They had 4 grandchildren.
Upon retirement, mom & dad moved to Washington state. They lived there for many years. Dad died of brain cancer in 1999. Mom died of a heart attack 25 Aug 2021 in Spokane Washington.
