Clark's Hill - Barbara J McMindes Barton, 67, of 11722 S. County road 975 E., died at 1:59 AM Tuesday, April 4, 2000, in the St Elizabeth Medical Center emergency room. She had been ill for a number of years. She was born on November 19, 1932, in Colfax, and had resided in Clark's Hill for 30 years, previously residing in Rapid City, S.D. She was a graduate of Colfax High School. On October 2, 1949, she married John William Barton Jr., in Francesville, and he died on July 25, 1992. Mrs Barton was a member of Clark's Hill Christian Church. Surviving are a son, John William Barton III (wife; Jodi) of Clark's Hill; a daughter, Barbara Summerfield (husband; Steve) of Clark's Hill; and a brother, Melvin McMindes of Lafayette. Surviving are 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded by 3 brothers, Harold, Gerald and Lee McMindes. Memorials may e made to the American Lung Association. Hippensteel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial at Yorktown Cemetery.
