Born Jan. 30, 1925, in Lafayette, he was a life resident of this area and was educated at St. Ann's Elementary and Lafayette schools.
Mr. Danaher served in teh Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a book binder at Haywood Publishing Co. from 1942 to 1990. From 1990 until retiring due to ill health in 2001, he was the attendant at the Lafayette City parking on Fifth Street.
He was divorced from Lois Haynes and Mary Peacock.
Mr. Danaher was a member of the American Legion Post 11, 40&8 Voiture, VFW Post 1154 and the Eagles Lodge 347.
Surviving are a son, Gerald L. Danaher Sr. of Flora; a brother, Dean Danaher (wife: Norma Jean), and two sisters, Kathleen Theresa Danaher, with whom he resided, and Vivian McDaniel (husband: Dan), all of Lafayette.
