Professional Football Player, Coach. Born Abraham Gibron in Michigan City, Indiana. He played at the guard position for eleven seasons (1949 to 1959) in the All-America Football Conference and National Football League with the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears. His career highlights include being a member of three NFL championship teams (1950, 1954 and 1955 Browns), selection to four NFL All Pro Teams (1951, 1953 to 1955) and four Pro Bowls (1952 to 1955). After playing collegiate football at Valparaiso and Purdue Universities, Gibron appeared in 125 career regular season AAFC and NFL games. After retiring as a player, he served as coach of the Bears for three seasons (1972 to 1974) and compiled a record of 11 wins 30 losses and 1 tie.
