Theresa Adelene Manning York, 80, a registered nurse, died Sunday, March 9, 2008.
Mass of Christian Burial: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation: 5 to 6 p.m. Monday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. Interment: (private) Greenwood Memorial Park.
Theresa Adelene Manning York was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Fort Worth, daughter of the late Bernard H. Manning Sr. and Lina McDonnel Manning.
She was a graduate of OLV and St. Joseph School of Nursing, where she was a member of the last Cadet Corp. of Nursing USA class.
She spent 30 years at Harris Hospital in the Surgery Department and was a member of the first open heart surgery team of Fort Worth at Harris Methodist Hospital.
She was also president of the Fort Worth Audubon Society and an avid bird watcher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, B. Herbert Manning Jr., Rip Manning, Harold Manning; sisters, Sister Frances Marie SSMN and Evelyn Beck.
Survivors: Children, Judith McGoffin and her husband, Bobby, Lee York, John York and his wife, Dr. Julie York; grandchild, Opal York; great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Pannell, Doris Ashour and her husband, Paul, Margaret Kalmbacher and her husband, Conrad, Pat Bilardi and her husband, Joe; brother, Donald Manning and his wife, Nancy; nephews; and nieces.
