The Rev. Gilbert E. Henning, 75, of Decatur, a native of Coatsburg, died at 10:43 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 2, 1989) in St. Mary Hospital in Decatur.
Mr. Henning was born Aug. 11, 1914, a son of Edward H. and Hannah Gilbert Henning. He married Mildred Rucker Sigafoose in 1941. She survives.
Mr. Henning was assistant pastor of the Mount Zion Assembly of God Church. He was a retired employee of the Norfolk and Western Railroad.
Survivors also include two sons, Phillip of Taylorville and Edward Sigafoose of Blue Mound; a brother, the Rev. Earl Henning of Rothschild, Wis.; a sister, Norma Johnson of Ottumwa, Iowa; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son and three sisters.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Dawson and Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 5 to 7 tonight.
Memorials may be made to the Mount Zion Assembly of God Church.
