Engagement of Miss Anderson is Announced
Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Anderson of 745 Tenth street announce the engagement of their daughter, Hazelwood Anderson, to Frank H.G. Adams of San Francisco, son of W.E. Adams, the well known mill man. Miss Anderson is a daughter of A. L. Anderson, a well known contractor of Fruitvale. She is a native daughter, a graduate of the Fruitvale Grammar school, and is giving up a promising stage career. The wedding will be solemnized at the home of the bride's parents May 1, after which the couple will travel for a time, and later make their home in San Francisco.

Because her first husband, Frank G. Adams, was found in the service of Uncle Sam at Camp Kearny, Mrs Hazelwood Anderson Adams Bowman today was decreed a divorce from Montague Bowman in Judge Avery's court. Mrs Bowman married husband No. 2 on October 21, 1916, after husband No. 1 had disappeared and she was told he was dead. They separated in February last when Adams turned up alive and well. Mrs. Bowman stated that her first husband is arranging to provide for their two children out of his pay as a soldier.

Hazel Mann, Lucerne Valley
Hazel Fern Mann, 84, a 24-year resident of Lucerne Valley, died there Monday. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, William Adams of Santa Barbara; a daughter, Violet Hazel (Adams) Francis of Oakland; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be private, with interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.
