Gwen was born on August 14, 1940, in Jacksonville to Cleburn and Minnie Mae (Rector) Armstrong and passed away on April 2, 2023. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Gwen started her career as a teacher's aide at the Spring Independent School District and retired as an Admin while working at the DeSoto Independent School District. She was an avid reader and enjoyed ceramics and knitting in her free time.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Cambell and Betty Nowlin.
Left to cherish Gwen's memory are her loving husband of 62 years, Dale Cowan of Jacksonville; son, Steven Cowan of Garland; and daughter, Susan Treadway of Arlington. She is also survived by 1 grandchild, Jordan Gnatowski and wife Erica; and 1 great-grandson, Callum James Gnatowski.
